Adyen payment verification window doesn't close, doesn't return confirmation to Steam client
Every time I try to make a purchase, my payment safety/verification settings with my bank cause a Steam window to open. I have to enter a code I receive via a text and my card's PIN. Afterwards, I receive a message (still from my bank's payment interface) about the payment being accepted and I press a button to return to the store. Normally, the window closes and Steam store page refreshes with the usual post-purchase summary and link to install my new content. This time, the window just goes blank/black - but doesn't close, and Steam acts like I haven't verified anything, I'm stuck in the final stage before payment (choosing the payment method, entering my CVV, etc.).

I can't reattempt the purchase for a while (say, 10 minutes) as I get the message that there's already a payment pending or in process (something along those lines). I don't receive the items - but I don't get charged, either. If I even look at my cart within those 10-ish minutes a couple of times, my ability to try the payment again will be locked for the next hour or so for safety reasons (for attempting a worrisome number of purchases in short succession; apparently, I can't be trusted with a shopping spree).

I had the same problem recently (within the last few days) - but not earlier today. In that previous instance, it finally took on my third try, without me doing anything differently.

Has anyone had the same problem? Who is the problem even with: Steam, Visa, Adyen, my bank? Do you have any ideas how to solve it if it persists?


EDIT:
I tried changing my authentication method to entering the app's PIN via my bank app, same result: the bank says the payment's been confirmed, but the window doesn't close and Steam doesn't seem to have received said confirmation.

Actually, it worked when, after three hours of failed attempts, I tried logging into Steam Store through my browser (Chrome), put the same stuff in the basket (it showed as empty when I logged in) and chose to pay with the same method and payment verification system. It worked like a charm the first time. It could be a coincidence: just this attempt happening to be the successful one, but I'd suggest you try the same and please report the results here. If it turns out to be consistent (broken in the Steam client, working in a browser), then at least there is a chance of it being a fixable issue that could be reported to Steam support.
