"Your credit card information has been declined by your credit company" issue
Pardon me, but I've got some problem here

Recently (from yesterday to be exact), I'm unable to make any payment using Credit Card
The message that appear is "Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit company"

After i got that message, i contacted my bank customer service, and they said there's no problem with my card and I still have enough limit to make the purcase.

To make sure, I've trying to buy some game from Nintendo e-Shop and there's no problem. And I also try to buy a steam wallet voucher from online shop, and there's no problem.

But somehow, each time I want to redeem the voucher, it always failed with the message "The Steam Wallet code you have entered is invalid. Please carefully verify the characters as you re-enter the code."
Then I give the voucher to my friend and he can redeem it with no problem.

Even when I'm trying to use another card (a debit card), the same failed message when I try to use my credit card still appear.
I havent try redeem another voucher and I know this issue is not supposed to happen.

Any help or tips?
Thx in advance

Uh you're talking about 2 entirely different problems which is very confusing

Steam is saying your payment method is being declined so you should go to your bank. The bank is honestly stupid sometimes and likely you need to talk to the fraud dept about it not the 'normal' customer service

For steam wallet codes it seems more like you'er just inputting the wrong numbers. Ensure you'r enot mixing up 0/O 1/l or copy/pasting as whitespaces are not stripped and will give the wrong code

Contact the banks fraud department and ask. They most likely flagged it. Regular customer service usually doesn't handle that.

Tbh, even I confused why both of this happened at the same time.

Btw, i've tried another steam wallet code, and now it's working with no problem. So disregard my voucher code problem, maybe it's true I've inputted it wrong.

But the credit card issue still happened, so any help on this? I'm pretty sure theres' no problem with my credit card, since I can use it on any other shop.
I've tried using another card from different bank (a debit card) and it still failed.

Now, I'm not sure what happened

I have the same issue just Last Friday and I use the usual credit card but it got declined. Try different credit card, problem still persist. Try other shop, credit card work.

I have conteacted the steam support and they say that I need to disable the IP provider or VPN software, which I have and reboot or log out from steam account, but problem still there.

I have sent another ticket and hopefully, they can help me. Still waiting for their reply.

I've already tried to contact the support and the information they can share is the card is denied.

Even tough I've tried to contact my bank, sometime they say there's problem with network and sometime they say my pin (CVV) got blocked only for steam. They've tried unblocking it, but the same issue still appear. I'm afraid it's only stock answer, since it's been one week, and there's no real solution.

The only one I havent tried to contact is from the payment system side (in my case, it's Visa). I've heard that there's issue where visa blocked some region card from making payment on Steam since there's some fraud issue beforehand.

I have the same problem and still not yet fixed. How do you get VISA to unblock your region card? since in my country, there's just a fraud case happened recently perhaps that's the reason why.

I've tried contacting the bank and they said they've unblock the CVV, but tbh, I don't see any difference and the same issue still appeared.

After some more investigating, I've found the problem is from the bank side, since not only visa, but the master card ver. of the credit card from my bank cant make any payment in steam too.
At least now i know where's the main problem, so the only thing i can do now is being patient

I have phoned my bank and finally got the answer (don't know if it's right or not) but they said that it could the interet connection from the bank side is disturbed when I wanted to make purchase. Well, when I can't make a purchase and there's a deadline in the discount price, of course, I feel the need to rush so I try to purchase several times, which all of them declined.

The bank thinks that becasue the card was tried so many times, it may be a fraud so they put limit (or temporary banned) you to purcahse anything from this specific store that you tried your credit card in (in this case Steam). This perimeter will be lift usually in 30 days but can get longer if we keep on trying, forcing our way to make a purchase in Steam. The more you try, the longer the ban will lift.

So, ,the bank suggest me not to make a purchase in steam for a certain period of time until my card is restored then try again. I think I will wait until Nov 21 when or more when the Steam sale happen, then try again. In the meantime, you can use Steam wallet or ask your trusted friend or family that has different Steamt account to buy the games for you as a gift.

I will let you know again if I already can make purchase. hope this can help.
