Too many login attempts, unable to reset password.
Hello,

so as of today, I had some network issues regarding my connection going on and off randomly, I was unable to play any games both on my PC and phone, so I tried some troubleshooting through CMD like ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew and ipconfig /flushdns.

My Steam app was acting up lately, telling me It was unable to reach the servers, so I thought the issue was connected with my internet problems, although deleting Steam data appart from Steam.exe and steamapps folder temporalily resolved that issue, after troubleshooting my network issues I am unable to log-in to my account ever since.

Now everytime I try to log-in a message "There have been too many login failures from your neteork in a short time period. Please wait and try again later."

Because my account is somehow expensive, I immediately started panicking. I could not find anything on the internet. So I waited. Minimal 4 hours (my PC was on, but I was AFK as I went to meet some friends).

After I came back, the same message still popped up. I resolved to try and change my password, which I am also unable to do, as it is telling me I tried that too many times too. I did not try changing my password since account creation. (Restarting my PC did not work either.)

I cannot log-in in the browser too. Right now I am writing this through the Steam mobile app.

Is there a way to solve this, or do I have to wait more time? And for how long? I've never told my password to anyone. (Well, since it's connected to my network, that would not even matter in this case)

Please help or just calm me down! :awoo:

Good luck! STEAM support will not help you and tell you to wait it out, though they implied to me that 2 hours should be enough for it to reset. I've tried everything I could find browsing through the forums and nothing has helped speed up my reset process either. I was logged out of the app while trying to install it, it wouldn't accept the authenticator code that steam sent me in my e-mail which I'm 100% sure was correct then it wouldn't accept my login in and next thing you know it's telling me too many login attempts. Even with my computer and phone off for at least 12 hours at the same time forced IP changes, cleared cahces, etc... I still cannot log in. 84 hours and counting...

This has also been going on for me. It startede 2 days ago. i can easy login to Steam windows App, and Steam on phone. But when i want to login to steamcommunity in a browser it say to many failed attempt's. Would be nice for a way to see in your account how many deviced has been logged in, and forget some just to eliminate what device that is making the failed attemps.

I did contact Steam support, but they were unable to resolve the issue as it was not on Steam's end. I was suspecting that from the beginning, they provided me with some information from their logs. I ended up changing my ISP as the ex-ISP did not really care, they were ignoring me and would not pick up my phone, even my neighbor with the same ISP had issues. I had disconnects every 15 seconds for about one second, I was losing up to 20% of packtes when pinging.

After changing my ISP, everything is working fine and they are actually helpful when I call them. Now I am not saying this is the way you have to go as the problem could lay somewhere else, but try pinging some adresses like google few times through the day and see if you lose any packets, I would suggest calling your ISP, especially if you are gaming online and getting DCs.

Good Luck, if you have any further questions, ask! :awoo:
