Steam Won't Detect Xbox One Controller
I recently was looking for a solution to resolve how my wired Xbox One controller tiggers would act like a single button. When both triggers were pressed they would cancel the input. I found a video on youtube that runs a small app and uses vJoy to spilt the trigger imputs. The solution worked but now Steam will not detect the controller or controller imputs. I uninstalled vJoy, deleted the app and no luck. Windows and the Xbox PC app run the controller just fine but Steam will not. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so your vJoy screwed things up then. Go to device manager, uninstall the gamepad and reconnect it. See if that fixes things.

Unchecking all boxes in General Controller Settings caused no changes
Did it start with windows 10?

This computer has run Windows 10 for the past year.
I had a bug with xbox one controller in win 10 over a year ago where the triggers would be low action on off buttons in win 10.
Havent tried it again. On 7 it works well.

Try the controller on another computer or os.

The issue isn't in Windows since windows sees the controller and it works great. Steam however will not detect the functioning controller.

What do you mean by "detect"?
Edit: Nvm.

Do games work with it?

In steam big picture, in the controller menu. At the bottom it says "No Controllers Detected". Steam says this even though windows sees the the controller with no issues.

Non-Steam games work just fine.

Can you control Steam BP with the gamepad meaning does it react to gamepad inputs?

BP does not respond in any way to the controller.

Ok, so your vJoy screwed things up then. Go to device manager, uninstall the gamepad and reconnect it. See if that fixes things.
