Is there a limit to how many separate hdd/ssd you can have steam folders on?

I have multiple HDD/SSD and steam is refusing to allow games to be installed onto any more drives. At the present I have eight separate drives and have run into this issue with the ninth.

why do you need 9 drives

Even my high end motherboard only has enough slots for basically 6 sata drives

Check each drive in the steam library folders you can set any one of them to default, rightclick one and set it to default.
Steam settings>library folders.
If your game is already installed just rightclick that game >properties>local files tab>move installation files and point to the steam folder on the drive of choice

If not, maybe (software) raid some drives together? Losing everything on it in the case of failure when it's just downloaded steam games isn't that big of a deal.

Thank you Jaunitta, that is not my concern, even though that is very useful for some people. I was wondering if there is a limit to the amount of steam library folders you can have. Like I say I have eight, but it seems to not allow me to make another. Maybe I will need to use symbolic links, a bit of a pain but not exactly difficult.
