Xbox series x/s controller compatible with older bluetooth version device

I hope you are good. I 'd like to ask you if I can connect an Xbox series controller with a bluetooth 4.0 Windows 10 PC. I tried with a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and, while it was connected, after some time it didn't respond. I tried to turn off and then on bluetooth in my phone, but nothing happened. I don't have bluetooth in my PC and I'm going to buy an adapter.
