i got hacked even tho i have the mobile authenticator
i got hacked i noticed that i blocked my steam friends and went to see my messages I found out that there was a hacker sending them messages and trying to scam them

how is that possible I thought the mobile authenticator would not allow any hackers
but I have changed my password to a much harder one hopefully I won't get hacked

here's what i know that could hack your account
1. entering account information on fake websites
2. javascript

The best lock in the world is no good if you give away the keys.

i think keydrop is safe but from now on i will be more careful

also after i changed my password will they be able to access my account even after i changed my password or am i now safe?

Is it possible that the hack happened from the phone it self? For sure yes. Consider Antivirus on the phone as well.

Do these steps in order,

1. Deauthorize all other devices 
https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

2. Change your password

3. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App 
https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

4. Revoke the API key 
https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey 
(There should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Changing your password does nothing if the hijackers still have access to your account via API.

Had the same thing happen to me, happened about a month ago but everything is fine now, I changed the password 4 times and they got locked out. No more mystery messages or whatnot, should be fine now dude. Just be careful next time

It isn't - the site is filtered for a reason.
