Can someone help me with a "missing executable"

hi, I recently downloaded Black Book and every time I try to start the game it comes up with "An error occurred while updating Black Book (missing executable). I went down the list of troubleshooting tips and it still doesn't work. I'll get a refund if I have to but I was really looking forward to playing

I did try that it said that it was all good but it still doesn't load

If it's a game specific issue the answer is probably more likely found there.

This usually happens when the device isnt compatible.

Black book is only windows and apple (not linux unless you try to Proton, etc it) - although it doesnt require a 64-bit or anything like that.
