Visa Prepaid card not working on Steam only?

My European Visa Prepaid card is working everywhere else including GOG but only it doesn't work on Steam. I entered all the right information and I have funds. I used the same Visa card to buy games earlier(2018-2020) but in the 2021 it stopped working for some reason. Steam support says the problem is not on their end but I think it has to be because I use the same card on GOG and it works. Maybe my bank blacklisted Steam but I don't see a reason why.

And what did your credit card company tell you when you asked them why your purchases on Steam are being declined?

I assumed it was wrong mobile phone number because I changed it but it is not. Steam started prompting me with Visa 3d secure notification which I do not have I guess I need to get it in order to complete purchase.

Anybody else was blocked by 3d secure? And why it was introduced now? I use to buy on Steam without 3d secure up until 2021. For some reason GOG and other web shops do not insist on 3d secure security check but Steam does. It has to be because of fraud that is happening on Steam basically on daily basis with stolen credit cards and stolen Steam accounts.

Most probably it is 3d secure thing. I will go to my bank and request from them to enable 3d secure payments for my card. It is like 2FA; you download an app and when you make your payment you need to enter one time code that you receive through the app.

If you have PayPal try linking the card to PayPal and then paying that way.

The easy solution is creating a free PayPal account and linking your credit card to the PayPal account and use it to pay with it on the Net and on Steam.
Even more secure then giving your Credit Card number away. Easy fix!

I can not use PayPal just like that I need to get verified first. And PayPal has country specific rules which you need to follow, with Prepaid Visa I can do whatever I want. But yea PayPal is more secure than plain credit card.
