Recover missing icons?

I deleted and re-installed the Steam.exe as someone instructed, and leaving only appdata, userdata, and Steam.exe. I restarted my PC, and all icons are gone! Any way to fix this, or do I have to change them manually one by one?

Do take backup of steam folders or rename it to steam.old

#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps ( installed games )
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games ( .ico )( icon's files to all desktop shortcut's )

#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\avatarcache ( profile picture ) (is at steam server user profile)
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(((# steam userID nr. #)))\remote\((( another steam ID nr.)))\screenshots.
#:\program files (x86)\steam\Backups


move game folder to same place where it once was + steam.exe reclick steam.exe and let it rebuild itself upagain. takes time.

and that is why you have old steam folder so you dont get lost data and maybe local save games and other thing.

do note, this i just what folder i have notice with userdata, there could be more.

this is to avoid lost icon and other things discover over time alot of user figureout down the road

this is still same old reset steam and keep its game to avoid DL and reinstall all, its just some abit more with added it back into new steam install.

Thats the problem here, still your job to know better and have backup of content, i even try explan it, that old simple reset is dead.

but no matter wht any wrote here, still fall back at you, you real need to know me , i typical say rename or move away, and i dount you have garbage can running even that can restore it.
feel free to locater your post helper and point out hes minor mistake with delete, but again still your problem you did it.

dont forget this is my own info, im not sure i cover all, but ppl should move games out and keep a total backup of data and userdata, some is retore by steam other are not.

point is you can try explan it to the helper, this is the only way they might update those old advice.

only reason why i post this, if you found a old guide that outdate or advice then even that is a problem ( 10 years ago, things was diffrent, now they need to cover more )

and be happy you only have 300+ games, im sure if you had 1000 games somedays , delete data is not option without can restore it if something is missing.

My mini guide is still a draft, and i have change it to user have backup, so my path dont even matter anymore , more a headsup with what and where.

Thanks for the reply. But I have fixed it myself, the solution is quite simple actually, restore the deleted files and replace the icon folder with the old one. Restart PC and it's all back.

Checked my game datas with cloud saves and what doesn't, it's normal.

yeap that backup , cloud or other source. rest is just refresh the view if windows need to reload blank icon.

highly recommend reactivate even garbage can that could do it faster .

So I think other than the friends network not working my issue is more or less solved. Just wanna say it again, cloud saves are super important.
