Steam backup not working
The steam backup restore wont restore all the game files from my external hdd, any way to fix?

I never use the Steam 'backup' features. I copy the entire game folder (and any related files such as my documents saves and prefs) to an external..

Sometimes I compress it to save some space.

To get them back.. I copy them back to the same folder.. and when I go to 'install' the game Steam will do a verify and just check the files you copied back.

Much safer and quicker than using 'backup' as it has never worked correctly for me, also like I said it is much slower.
