Fraud
ive just had a bomb burst of emails.

ive had someone from russia (reverse ip trace from the one given off the steam email)
try to access my account, then received a load of emails off a Kinguin ????? website of someone creating an account in my name, which i cant access, buy a copy of cyberpunk 2077, and use the steam product code to activate the game.

is there any way to contact steam with product codes and get the little *&$^heads account better yet IP banned.

im having to go through a right battle to get this sorted since you need an account on kinguin just to access there tech support. and having to change hundreds of passwords to stop further use.

IP bans are bloody useless for obvious reasons.
Getting the account of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ banned is impossible as they're using your account, aren't they?

Feel free to simply ignore the Kinguin account, it's not like it matters.

Did they activate the license key on your Steam account?

I dont think they managed to gain access to my steam.

They created the kinguin account used my paypal and activated the liscense key. I have no idea what account the activated it on.

secure your paypal account and have it disputed. the person will lose access to the game at least.

So while you may imagine this individual is going to use these product codes on his personal account, I think most people familiar with this sort criminal behavior that's very unlikely. He's probably trying to make money which means reselling those product codes and hoping he can get enough layers between him and his theft were someone else has to eat the loss.

And none of the accounts he's using to perpetrate it are terribly valuable. It would just be a cost of doing business. People have been doing this sort of thing for a long time, chances are it's not his first day on the job...

Could be it's right back up for sale on one of those key selling sites. No loss for them should it be revoked. They didn't pay for it.

If it has been sold on it was fast.
From the first email of them trying to access my steam account (lucky for me you need a pin to make a purchase)
To the last email stating the licence key was activated.

No more then 3 minutes had passed.

Purchase? To make a purchase, one would need to be logged in already. You're implying that they indeed got into your Steam account.

If the game isn't on your Steam account, dispute the charge. The key will be revoked from whatever account activated it. If it was sold and a 3rd party bought the key, that's what they get for buying keys from shady sites.
