All steam icons on desktop are blank after reinstalling windows 10

So I got a new mobo and cpu and reinstalled my windows. I have 6 total drives and obviously the steam file on the C: drive got deleted during the reinstall.

I reinstalled Steam and when I go to put shortcuts on my desktop from steam, they are all blank white pages.

I've noticed that my steam/steam/game folder has no icons in there.

I've checked to make sure that .url files are defaulted to "internet browser"

I've rebuilt my icon cache for windows 10 multiple times and no luck.

Also I have verified my local files in steam for games and that doesn't work either.

I have a lot of games and don't want to have to go through manually editing all of the icons on the desktop.

Ofc. Not , i tried to tell other steam user dont ever delete steam anymore.

copy from my own tekst file to start notice local content issue , and then you have figure this out i doubt you will not do that again and bet you do not have backup or old steam anymore.

Do take backup of steam folders or rename it to steam.old

#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games ( .ico )( icon's files to all desktop shortcut's )
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata ( save games ) depend on game devs use this place.
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\avatarcache ( profile picture ) (is at steam server user profile)
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(((# steam userID nr. #)))\remote\((( another steam ID nr.)))\screenshots.
#:\program files (x86)\steam\Backups


move game folder to same place where it once was + steam.exe reclick steam.exe and let it rebuild itself upagain. takes time.

and that is why you have old steam folder so you dont get lost data and maybe local save games and other thing.

do note, this i just what folder i have notice with userdata , there could be more.

this is to avoid lost icon and other things discover over time alot of user figureout down the road

this is still same old reset steam and keep its game to avoid DL and reinstall all , its just some abit more with added it back into new steam install.

point is no one can fix what you have wiped.

and i have not made artwork, i have no idea where that is. or cover to a game.
so gl to rebuild all that.

Yeah I'm realizing that deleting steam/steam/games folder without backing it up is a huge mistake to make. Certainly on Valve's end they could do something better to make sure this doesn't happen for when people reinstall windows or something. Would seem like something they'd fix on their end.

I'm having the same issue. Telling me I need to back up makes no sense as this is happening to new games that I buy, I didn't have any game that I was playing installed.

i really don't know what they do every new update on steam gets more errors. Steam before 2022 didn't have this problem, U have cloud on steam that save only pictures and u need to backup steam, the chat in game i dont know for u ppl but for me was bugged before the last update on it and i ca only see a giant text, hoping the they can fix this little problems and u dont need to costumes steam every time u install it on your account its useless to have a cloud if u cant even backup steam settings
