HOW DO I DISABLE ONLINE EVENT NOTIFICATIONS?!?!
For years now I have been getting these notifications, daily... HOW DO I TURN THEM OFF!!!???
I haven't played Elder Scrolls in years! I am not interested?! I did not opt in! I have tried time and time again to find some way of disabling these! PLEASE STOP SPAMMING MY COMPUTER WITH THESE EVENTS!!!

The support page has nothing about these events. Googling I find nothing that mentions these online events. I haven't joined any groups that I can disable. I see no way to ask anyone except here. Please. Are there anyone out there that knows how to disable these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ online event notifications???????

Friends list->settings

Ok. I'm guessing that means

Friends>view friends list>cogwheel>notifications

And maybe... "Group events and announcements"? Is that what an "online Event" is?

Ok. I'll try that. Just feels like a kind of arcane way. When all I had to go on were those endless online events popups.

I just think it would be way easier to have some form of hint in the notifications how to opt out of them.

It didn't help when the friends list UI update in 2018, it was missing from the main client settings where it used to be and only after weeks of complaining did they add it to the friends list settings.

That should not be happening at all, if you have it configured correctly.

View > Settings > (in left column) Interface. And then in the right section, last checkbox. (notify me about additions... bla, bla, etc.)

Is that unchecked?

Wrong one. That is for the news pop up when you login.

OP is talking about the group event and announcements. That setting is in the friends list now.

Ok, I try that as well (notify about additions...), apparently it was checked. It is weird that there is no "online event" setting. I just have to guess around tons of other similar sounding settings.

It is also a strange place to put this setting (friends list settings), since nowhere does the notification mention it is part of a friend list thing...

That's some mystery meat navigation right there.

Since they pop up in the same spot chats, friends coming online, friends going in game and invites, I can see why they put it there but it was perfectly fine with the other settings.

Valve being Valve.

Are we talking about the same notifications then? Since I tend to get them in the middle of the screen as a popup, not down in the corner with those other notifications stating "friend started playing game". If it was down there it wouldn't be so eggregious and eye-strainingly annoying. It is usually BAM! Every time I open the computer. It's there proudly stating that an online event is about to start in a game I lost interest in years ago.

I would post a screen shot of it, but this forum doesn't seem to support image uploads (probably for good reasons).

Little tiny pop up window saying an event started or a bigger one with ads you can scroll through for games on the store?
