And maybe... "Group events and announcements"? Is that what an "online Event" is?
Ok. I'll try that. Just feels like a kind of arcane way. When all I had to go on were those endless online events popups.
I just think it would be way easier to have some form of hint in the notifications how to opt out of them.
View > Settings > (in left column) Interface. And then in the right section, last checkbox. (notify me about additions... bla, bla, etc.)
Is that unchecked?
Wrong one. That is for the news pop up when you login.
OP is talking about the group event and announcements. That setting is in the friends list now.
It is also a strange place to put this setting (friends list settings), since nowhere does the notification mention it is part of a friend list thing...
That's some mystery meat navigation right there.
Since they pop up in the same spot chats, friends coming online, friends going in game and invites, I can see why they put it there but it was perfectly fine with the other settings.
Valve being Valve.
