Is 41 MBPS (download) and 17.4 MBPS (upload) a good internet speed for gaming?
Recently Apex Legends and GTAO have been lagging for me and I'm not sure why. Is my internet connection the problem? If not then what else could it be?

Seems pretty standard. Definitely good enough to play online without any lag, what does your ping say? That is the important value for playing lag free in games.

Bandwidth and ping are two different things. For example, satellite internet can have decent bandwidth, but going out to space and back makes for a terrible ping.

You can have crummy ping for a variety of reasons even if your speed tests seem decent. Your ISP could be having issues, there could be an issue on your local network, packet loss somewhere long the way. If restarting your modem/router doesn't do anything you can always to try to do some more diagnostics, but one thing to keep in mind is you don't manage most of your Internet connection. If the issue is outside of your control all you can do is create support tickets.

And depending on the details, it may clear up on it's own. Like if your ISP is having some sort of issue, they may discover it and fix it themselves and then things would just go back to normal as unexpectedly as they started.

It doesn't matter if you have a gigabit connection, latency, in particular is dependent on server location.

More bandwidth is useful when there's several users on your connection.

Any simple Mbp/s connection is fair enough for gaming.

If you're experiencing "lag", it could be your ISP, the server you're on, or even issues with your physical connection...
