Which still is a "custom" url and therefore the patter is again
https://steamcommunity.com/id/<SteamID>
which is not...
https://steamcommuntiy.com/profile/<SteamID>
I want to remove it so that I can easily give a permalink to my profile without having to save it somewhere on multiple devices. It was convenient so if there's no option for it then good job Valve on the 8000th renovation that, considering the loss of some functions, was unsolicited.

It is listed on the Account Details page now.
Example if put ChandlerDude you can just tell them that https ://steamcommunity .com/id/ChandlerDude, the 1st part is always what it is, Steamcommunity /id/ then your name basically done, as you know it Steam community thing, and id just the id you set.
If you don't want to remember jack, and want to add someone tell them your friend code, just visit add friend page, and you see your friend code, and tell them, that's about it.

Or do what Hodman, and Hotscause pointed out, can same address on profile info box, or just copy and paste SteamID64 when visit account details.
They all lead to your profile, but if you change you profile URL a lot that make sense, but your friend code remains, and SteamID64.
