screenshots black thumbnails problem

hello guys. can somebody please help me! i'm having black thumbnail problem when i open my screenshots! it's not the old screenshots that i captured with steam itself. only those ones i upload artwork as screenshots! is this a bug or what? how can fix this?

have you wipe previous steam install ?

Do take backup of steam folders or rename it to steam.old

#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps ( installed games )
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games ( .ico )( icon's files to all desktop shortcut's )
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata ( save games ) depend on game devs use this place.
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\avatarcache ( profile picture ) (is at steam server user profile)
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(((# steam userID nr. #)))\remote\((( another steam ID nr.)))\screenshots.


move game folder to same place where it once was + steam.exe reclick steam.exe and let it rebuild itself upagain. takes time.

and that is why you have old steam folder so you dont get lost data and maybe local save games and other thing.

do note this i just what folder i have notice with userdata , there could be more.

this is to avoid lost icon and other things discover over time alot of user figureout down the road

this is still same old reset steam and keep its game to aviod DL and reinstall all , its just some abit more added

last night steam required update so it did update if that's what you mean, i didn't wipe anything...

ahh okay, try check if screenshort image is even there, have add steam folder info on current known folder in steam people might want to think not to wipe, so how come you have black image, either picture is gone or cache with it , is reset , not sure if steam or other user have same issue let see what other reply within 24hour.

yes, the picture is still there! i've also upload another screenshot a few minutes ago to see if problem still there and yes again! even new screenshot that i just uploaded a few minutes ago also shown as black thumbnail... however, i can see them on my screenshot showcase! but when i select to see all screenshots the problem will appear...

seen other post with2k or more not sure if steam has a limit, but it did not sounds like same, could also be bad network you have into own isp or from isp into steam sever and it simple dont DL image of them so black content is showed.

just because i wrote this dont mean its that
check speedtest into own isp .
change dl zone
can you DL from steam.
problem is steam can also have server issue with userdata ( and that has nothing to do with DL )
as you see , it can be complicated , maybe wait 24hours, if you still have issue or other steam user can confirm this , just proof a steam server issue, without bother them with it.
after 24hour maybe make ticket and complain over it. could be a good idea wait for a time to see it solve itself.

so you mean if it is a isp problem, screenshots only appears to me as black thumbnail? cause they already uploaded on steam, can you please check my profile screenshots and see if black thumbnails are there? there are 4 number black thumbnails... i guess the only way is waiting ... I think it's better for me to not upload any more screenshots unless it get fix or something... it's so frustrating :(

its best you wait to see if its a steam server issue. or congested network into steam or back from them. im not sure , is screensoort you already have upload use upload cache to check as online cache and that can explan alot of why it cant check if steam or isp cant get through or back from them.

its already upload so it there, dont worry.
i doubt im wrong on this , unless you delete black content.

my worry is that the black thumbnails stay there forever and ruins my screenshots

thats why you wait 24hour, before you try reset own steam setting, or reboot steam and it fix itself, plenty of people can confirm you on this and we hope its that. and you just save yourself alot of work, if this was just a steam issue and its gone 24hour later.

ps.
nothing prevent you from vist a friends pc and login just to check yes its steam or own pc issue.

could help you if you have spare pc. ( but this will not ruleout own isp into steam and back from them ) most be okay then 2 pc , so this cant be own pc issue. i did not say its 100% sure thing ,but make sense if you look ta it from logic , you are more in trouble if one work and other dont.

i tried this method on my phone, i logged in to my phone steam app and it is the same! black thumbnails are there... thing is, the problem only appears for pictuers that i upload them artwork as screenshot. so they're basically artworks in screenshot section that have the black thumb problem

i have to upload my screenshots from artwork tab! because i take them with nvidia photo mod so they have more quality and are more than 2MB... and steam doesn't have an option for uploading your custom screenshot as you know! so i upload them from artwork tab with a code that will allow me to upload it to my screenshots, so here comes the black thumbnail problem.... i see other people do it and have no problem and i can see their screenshots properly without black thumbnail

I noticed it when I renamed the screenshot folders, how do I make them visible again(not as undetectable black images on the Steam Uploader window) in the new screenshot(Steam created a new one after I had renamed the old one) folder?

you should not have done that
#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(((# steam userID nr. #)))\remote\((( another steam ID nr.)))\screenshots.

i bet, rename folder screw up path and the ways steam see things.

enter those name folder and look view file for ID or store name to get ID nr back at fodler , hope restart steam will return it.
