Has anyone seen weird issue around mouse clicking being all over the place on Big Sur?
I have the exact same hardware (monitor, hub, keyboard) as I did a week ago, but I've swapped out my computer from a Dell XPS 15" to a Macbook M1.

Now, for whatever reason, the mouse clicking is all over the place - and none of it accurate. Here is me demonstrating it in Factorio (the same problem happens in the Steam dashboard, and other games).

Here's a gif of it - you can see where I move the mouse all over, and no matter where I click, the clicks come from either the red or green science assembler - https://imgur.com/a/qljiAFg
(again, just showing it in factorio, it happens in all Steam games).

Here it is in higher definition on Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0Wd_VoeMO8&feature=youtu.be

Every time you see the mouse stop, that's me executing a click. Most of the time it registers nothing, then once it gets something (like an assembler) it seems to never let go.

No and Yes , hes issue look like repeteable functions, i have seen a click and attach on my laptop likea item is click and move to new location and both could be part of same issue.

and wll this can still be part of USB screw up, this is not a joke, whatever it is or just a new bug that seem to be part of steam only issue. have not checked other game client.

and as you i dont belive its a mouse driver update, it could be who knowns or remove all USB device and reattach them to Reset USB configuretions. (problem is i already do this its a laptop so something more then USB most have happend here. )

gl with it
start to contact steam support, this cant be a Games devs issue, then game doing that was release years ago. ( and problem was not there before. )

this is just another odd issue you have discover AND my own odd issue and i need to multi click spam to get it off my pick at mouse pointer. ( cant explan it better then that. and after 5 to 10 sec all return to normal. )

do check mouse driver and usb driver , because even that can be part of the problem.

You changed your *entire computer* and are surprised that a game might not run on a mac?

Thank you so much @Iceira!

I went through Steam support and they provided no help - I showed them the video, problems with the dashboard, problems with a game, and they said "no repro".

I'm saying all of steam - literally everything - doesn't work. I think you're exactly right, it's a driver issue, but I'm stumped because that basically means i'm stuck until someone (Apple?) fixes it. It's not just Microsoft (makers of my mouse) or Belkin (makers of my hub) because direct connecting to the mac via bluetooth and the track pad also have the same problem.

It's not just Factorio. The Steam Dashboard and many other games don't work. I'm saying the entire app and then dashboard are all broken, and i can't figure out why I'm the only one (I assume if anyone else had this problem, someone would have brought it up).

I know this thread is old, but for anyone still experiencing this issue today, for me the cause seemed to be connecting the wireless mouse dongle via a USB hub / splitter. Plugging the dongle directly in to the mac immediately fixed the issue.
