Graphic card stuck in powersaving
I've just purchased an Asus Rog G512LI with i5 10thgen,GeForce 1650ti,8gb ram and 250 ssd m2 but I do have a big problem; my graphic card is only runing on powersaving mode.
I've tried to install the ultimate performance plan- doesn't worked.
Install new drivers and set nvidia to high performance/performance -doesn't work
Reinstall windows -doesn't work
Installing power plans by importing them -doesn't work.
Update Bios -doesn't work
Restore Bios -doesn't work
used command :powerful -a and the following error is written :

Following state is available:
Standby(S0 lowe power idle) network connected

Standby (S1)
This standby is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.
An internal system component has disabled this standby state.
Graphics.

Can someone help?I'm out of options.

How exactly do you know your graphics card runs in powersaving mode? What symptoms do you observe?

Is the AC adapter typically plugged in to your laptop?
It's normal for internal hardware components to be put in lesser power states when running solely on battery for the longevity of the component. This can be noticed particularly with CPU throttling on some laptops.
The feature that you might be wrestling with is called Optimus:

Do laptop owner even bother read manual anymore.

as Mailer point out + all what is not mention here is the problem..

feel free to Contact Asus support, they are your support, and tell them you did not read manual , before they force you to return unit for checkup.

From Armoury Crate which states that GPU is in power saving without an option to change it.

Is typically plugged in and yea I think it's something to do with the way Nvidia's card work, I put it to some stress test and It worked good, it left the power saving mode and use almost full capacity(I saw it only on the Armoury Crate software)

Immm are you here to help or just comment?Yes I did read the manual, I did charge it 3 hours before, I also have 10 days till return policy ends and everything I did it's normal and will not affect the return policy I just don't wanna be that guy who returned a laptop for not knowing how it functions.Asus support just told me to put give it to asus's service which in my country doesn't have a good reputation, they usually don't screw the case or let parts outside. Now you understand my concern and why I made a topic.

check nvidia control panel and power scematic , if this is not Full performance it will be seen as user choise and the consequence of it. ( i guess it depend on the game need how much GPU /CPU cylcle it needs.

dont forget we cant see what mode you are in , or edit right one.

even mailer and reboot point it out. power cord on and performance mode and charge up,

dont forget a clean install with Nvidia driver even that has been seen before.

I fixed with some registration file for those who have the same problem I will post here but from what I learn S0 state is a working state and it's the best state for your laptop even tho you are left with less options in power plans.
For those who want the control and set up othere states here it
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power
make a Dword 32 value with "CsEnabled" and set it to 0
make another Dword 32 value with "PlatformAoAcOverride" and set it to 0
Restart your computer and High performace plan Ultimate performance plan and the rest of the options should be there.

Maybe you should talk with Asus VIP Laptop support, what about next time , or other user , and new system , then you have to edit all this again.

whatever has happend here, dont seem to follow normal procedur and still is a ASUS supports problem,

dont think you will get many other Laptop user to edit Windows Registration thats is seen as not a normal user task to do.

but after using it along with armoury crate it seems that you have better performance if you just leave it as it is and use armoury crate, I still have the laptop and I used it every day the performance didn't dropped and the lack of power profiles didn't had impact on my work or gaming sesions. What I would advice for those with this laptop is to drop their fps to 80 and use normal or low details in their game for a longer life of your laptop, you don't really need those cinematic details in most of the game and the temperature difference is amazing.Have a great day

Thank you for the help. I had a similar issue on my Asus TUF, for some reason after an update you sort of loose control of the power options not to mention fans spin half as fast.
