Max Payne 1 Fixes and Help Discussion Thread (Help with other older games as well)

Hi guys I've been experiencing some issues with max Payne 1 with screen tearing and sound issues. I m worried about downloading mod fixes since they can contain viruses and I was wondering if anybody could help me with this. Also was wondering about some info on how to tell if mod or mod file has viruses on it. I'm experienced in steam but not in the mods community and this is the first I've ever modded a game before and I m kinda a bit worried about getting a virus and stuff if that makes sense. Also I hope to make this a discussion thread for people having trouble running max Payne 1 on current modern windows 10 PCs since I've been unable to find any discussion threads on this topic on steam. Sorry for the long post. I will also try to help anybody with other older games if they need help. I'm also gonna post a thread in the max Payne 1 Discussion forum as well. There guide in sub forum for Max Payne 1, follow it to fix sound. It's due to the fact the games won't come back to convert the files to format that supported for Windows Vista, and up. There is a community made mod patcher which may get flagged as false positive by your anti virus, and may quarantine it so white list it in your anti virus, or disable it just for a minute to patch the sound files, once done can return back on your anti virus, and delete the mod patcher.

Also for screen tearing, can't remember, but I believe you turn off vsync in game, as well use rivatuner to limit your game fps to 60, or lower as the game bugs out at higher refresh rate, where you get stuck on walls, or can't jump well.
