If you're playing with the client online it's possible it's another bug introduced with the latest public (not beta) client update. Several issues have been being reported since then. They're surely working on a fix. At least lets hope they are. Whether we've opted in to the beta version of the client or not it's helpful to report issues like this, at least so we're sure Valve knows about it, in the beta group discussions or by submitting a ticket to the help system.
It's common to not get a reply from a dev on the beta discussions and it's common to get a scripted reply the person that answers copy/pasted saying "contact the game's developer" in the help section. If you submit a ticket to the help system and get a lame reply like that remind them that this is an issue with Steam's system, not the game.
