This is, however a 4 day old laptop, with brand new downloads in each case. I've checked the integrity of Judgement, and also checked the integrity of Windows 10 itself.
I believe both these games are based on the same engine "Unity" (because of the name and location of log files and the plethora of Unity.xxx.dll s) so I think what I'm seeing is an issue between Unity and the latest version of the Steam API, exacerbated by the new hardware (11th Gen i5 and Iris Xe onboard graphics)
EDIT: I've tried running judgment using an wired network connection and WiFi connection - same error in both cases.
EDIT: My old AMD laptop (A4 with onboard Radeon R3 - so VERY old) still runs Judgement so it's definitely related to hardware. Windows error log from a failed start of Judgement in the new computer follows:-

and we dont give a crap in what people think what they have , tell system spec , so we know whats going on.
i have also seen new pc before with outdate BIOS and fixed by Brand support , so you wont solve this just becasue its new , unless you already did all that. ( let me put it this way i will be surprise if you will brake that recodrd i can still count to under 5 person on my fingers in 40 years that actual had all update. ( have you bought any extra to laptop , even that is seen before to change stability, RAM or whatever. )
im sure other helper here can say same new things dont change a thing.
and you also notice old laptop has no issue so you might have discover it already. whatever that bug is driver or bios or more added hardware. ?
Well, that escalated quickly. Thank you for your complete lack of constructive help. If you spent less time on expletives and more time on basic spelling, punctuation, and grammar I'm sure you wouldn't come over as a total jerk in online interactions...
You weren't to know this, but I do have some history with computers. I was a professional programmer from 1986- 2010. Since then, development management, business analysis, project management and enterprise architecture.
My first PC was a brand new IBM PS-2 386sx with a mighty 4MB of RAM.
I have assembled PCs from components and I know how to interpret hardware specifications.
As to this laptop:
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz (released Q3 2020 if you're playing at home - by the time that's put in a laptop and hits the shelf we're talking pretty near brand new, the actual model number first appeared online a couple of months ago)
8GB RAM
Windows 10 (obviously) I checked for updates immediately & installed everything.
Since then I ran:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
Followed by
SFC /scannow
to make sure the system was OK.
FYI apparently there is a known issue with the Unity Engine, Steam, and the Intel Iris XE graphics system. Unity aren't going to be backporting any fix so older unity games will currently, only work if you disconnect from the internet first (and stay off the internet during play).
Valve and Intel MIGHT be able to do something to fix this and I hope they do.
