how to chat in tf2

You need to purchase something within the mann co store in order to get premium in tf2. You have to have both a unlimited steam and tf2 premium in order to use voice.

The reason this was done was to combat bots. There have been alot of voice spamming bots over the years.

It's entirely possible that you have to wait for an hour or two. Such things are often not instant.
