HELP: Downloads keep pausing about 2 thirds threw while downloading to USB.

I recently purchased a USB stick (Integral 128GB USB Memory 2.0 Flash Drive) and decided to try and install half-life 2 today on the USB stick. I got to about 1.3gbs in and suddenly my USB stick turns off. The download pauses and when i plug the stick back in steam either freezes until I plug it out or until it pauses the download again and when i click resume it instantly pauses again and repeats this until the USB turns off again. I've set it so the USB doesn't turn off to save power and nothing changes. I tried this on 'Deus X' which is 400mbs and only got 300mbs in. I didn't have the same problem when downloading something to my laptop earlier today but I need to use the USB as I have no more space on my computer. Any suggestions as to how i could fix this?

You do know USB2.0 is seen as to slow. ?

and games might crash because of slow loading inside a game. this is part of why steam dont like external usb , people have no clue , and steam will not explan why they dont recommnend use such old outdate diffrent USB tech. well USB3.0 is e en faster is a diffrent mater , but its here it will work , but now you sit and use a whatever that is.

thats is a dead data storage device , nothing else not a game install place, many you need tgo 20 years back to install games on device like that.

just so you get it i have example a 1GB wan line , and you want use a usb2.0 480mbit device.
i hope this will help other steam user not make such mistake.

keep in mind we are not here to educate anyone or explan anything. in how computer works.
and you forget antivirus and unpacking and install write data on sametime, that little poor device has been bottleneck all the down to "i cant do it captain".

no room you say check Download folder for , multi verion of same files.
use windows disk clean up, maybe alot of junk there.
even ccleaner can locatiam temp and jusnk files.
move external movie clip and pictures to remote harddisk. ( such is seen as datastorage only )
to play a move can be down from even usb2.0 as long its not need past the 480mbit live stream might need. most compresed files work fine from usb2.0.

but serious use a usb3.0 port if you have such and get a harddisk to it, not ram stick flash drive many diffrent name for it we use name like usb key
