do you need MSAA when you have turned on FXAA and SMAA
^?? MSAA IS kinda fps draining , does fxaa + smaa make the game look like when msaa is turned on at x8?

its all subjective..

you don't "need" any of those. But SMAA is like inbetween, so go witht hat if MSAA drops your performance too much

Whatever looks good and maintains the FPS you want, it won't be the same for every game, you just need to experiment. I usually always leave FXAA on with other AA when possible because its impact on performance is so minimal.

Ultimately each mode has pros/cons. You have to weigh which one gives you more pros, while acceptable cons

MSAA - looks the best but destroys GPUs
SMAA - looks less good but is less GPU intensive
FXAA - looks the 'worst' (on a relative scale) but is the least GPU intensive

If you just want FPS and it look 'kinda' pretty then probably FXAA is fine. If you demand maximum visual fidelity then MSAA is the way to go.

Again its more about where you want the bar of "FPS" and "pretty"

Get a 1440p 24" display and you won't need to turn on AA at all.
Just look at the image on screen.
Dont know why you need to ask.

Mostly its cables or thin lines, the rest you wont notice in game. I regularly forget the names, because i just look. In some games the old aa is not enough. Txaa is probably the best for fps and aa, there is another that is better, but i forgot the name. Its something with 2x in it, and movie or so.

If im playing at 1440p or 4k on my tv i typically turn off AA all together.

If Im using a computer monitor I prefer smaa because it doesnt have the smearing of fxaa at lower reoslutions and doesnt tank performance like MSAA.

I havent dealt with Nvidias new DLAA, but it looked legit in the reviews
