My Steam level got decreased for no reason

I was at level 40, but all of a sudden it got decreased down to 38, why? I didn't refund any games or did anything that has something to do with levels

Purely out of curiosity and meaning no disrespect but - one has to wonder why your steam level is worth even the tiny bit of time it took to post your message. Seriously, man; it's just a circle with a number in it.

Game count might have decreased from games that no longer count towards the badge.

I googled it too. I think that’s the only possibility since I literally did nothing else. Maybe some games that I have badges on got banned

Crafted badges will always count even if the game is banned from Steam.

I've been on steam 14 years and have 300+ games and never heard of a "showcase". I don't give a crap about trading cards, achievements etc. Gold stars haven't interested me since the 1st grade but...

What the heck is a showcase?

I'm a measly 14 same as the number of years I've been with STEAM. And no I've never seen an add showcase button. Then again I'm not much for detail and haven't looked at my profile for a very very long time.

I think the only possibility is that some games got banned and were removed from my library so my level was decreased. There’s nothing I can do about that

They're still available in your library. They just don't count towards the badge.
