Terraria requires .NET Framework 4.x and XNA Framework 4.0.

If you are running Windows 8 or above, make sure your Windows files are intact, run this from an Administrator command prompt:
sfc /scannow
If running Windows 7 make sure .NET Framework 4.x Runtime is installed: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net48 (this works on all Windows versions from 7 to early versions of 10 but you can also download it via Windows Update)

Next, make sure XNA Framework 4.0 is installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27598

If those install fine you should be able to launch the game. If they fail to install you may have problems with your OS.

The Terraria forum might be a good spot to ask. Sometimes in PC gaming there's a bit of work to do. If you system is missing things, or is configured weirdly, or drivers our outdated. In that case you, the user, usually have to sort that out.

You might also mention your system specs when asking for help.

I had actually checked through the installscript.vdf file for the game before answering; that said install scripts don't check if the runtimes are installed or not and instead simply invokes the silent install mode.

So youre 14 and cant read the requirements on the steam store page?
You cannot google your solution by yourself?

Normally the software requirements should install automatically, but if there are any Windows issues it could interfere.
