1. I didnt have to enter any form of licence key when I started the game it just automatically went into trial mode. I havent found anywhere in the game where a trial licence key could be found but I will look again.
2. tl;dr no sign of a Uplay window. When I click "Play" in Steam a "Ubisoft Connect" window pops up. I have to log in with my Ubisoft account. The "Ubisoft Connect" window closes, I get a "The Division" epilepsy warning come up for 5 seconds or so. That then goes away and I am in the game looking at the game with a picture of my character and the menu with Continue game, patch notes, options, etc. If I choose Continue I get a "Division" style message come up saying "Trial period has ended" and I can either click "Close" which takes me back to the menu or "Unlock" which brings up the Steam browser window and the cd key window that is too small.
3. I can highlight one of the lines but there is no "Copy to Clipboard" button. I saw that button in the picture at https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2263-RIFC-1898&l= but that button isnt in the window I get. Please see the 2nd link above for exactly what my window looks like. I have also tried highlighting one of the keys and then hitting Ctrl-C but that does not copy it either.
4. Yes, I can get into the game ok and see the main menu. Once the game has started if I click Continue to actually play it brings up the warning about the trial period ending.
If I get as far as the Trial period warning and click to "Unlock" the screen changes to a new window which I think is the "Ubisoft Connect" window where I can select several things including Friends, Feed, Store, Browser, Key Activation.
Right click on game in library > Manage > CD Keys > Copy to Clipboard
Perhaps the CD Keys menu option has been moved to somewhere else in the Steam client? I'm now looking but I cant find it anywhere.
Edit: In the Properties > DLC page is the install box ticked?
If I select "Manage" the next menu is "Add desktop shortcut", "Browse local files", "Hide this game" and "Uninstall".
If I select Properties > DLC all of the items are ticked in the "Install" column including one named "Tom Clancy's The Division - Gold WW Uplay Activation".
Just had a live chat with Ubisoft support and sent them a link to this thread.
They should hopefully be able to resolve the issue for you.
Contact them at the link below:
https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Cases/New
Remember to log in before starting your case (top right).
Select > PC > The Division > Keys and Codes > Not Listed here
Scroll down to live chat and click on it.
I tried using ubisoft support before but it kept greying out the submit buttons so I couldnt contact them.
When you say to scroll down as all other fields have been filled in, when I follow that link it takes me to the ubisoft page to create a new case without any fields filled in.
Was there a case number or something I could refer to when I try the live chat?
[edit]
I see you changed the previous posting. I'll try as you suggest and start a live chat with them.
Found this in a thread in the division forums

Your welcome.
I clicked on the link after posting to then realise it gets reset and why I edited the post.
Remember to link the thread for clarity of the issue.
Hope you get it resolved.
No matter how hard I look I cannot find a way of raising a ticket with Steam, they've done a real good job of hiding it. All I can find are these forums and that unhelpful self help Q&A thing.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2263-RIFC-1898&l=
" you will need to contact the respective support department for that service."
and absolutely no information on how to contact them.
Or
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_cat.php?id=7&t=qanda
"The Help site will guide you to self-solve the issue or send a help request to the Steam Support team."
no it wont.
