Why there is no Hebrew language !?!?!?!??!
There are all languages in all versions but not the Hebrew language But changing the currency yes? Buy games yes but give us improvement no? There are 30,000 users in Israel. I have been trying to talk to managers here for 5 years I'm starting to suspect it's more of a racist section Do not forget that the Hebrew language existed 3500 years before you And before the English that even Jesus spoke it and prayed in it I do not intend to buy more games until there is a Hebrew language version Israel is one of the most developed countries in the world. Almost every exit in the world passes through it We are not a remote island that does not need to invest in us
Make a version of the Hebrew language 5 years talking to air and not to people.

There's hundreds of languages in this world. Supporting all of them is hardly practical (for obvious reasons, really), so priorities have to be set. Usually, it's the languages from the largest markets which get supported first and foremost.

On top of that, it's not like having one's language is even desireable in the first place. I live in Germany, but I'm using Steam in English and most games in English. Even if German translation of games weren't often crap, when searching for specific game terms or guides in German, I get way less reading material to chose from than in English (again, for obvious reasons).

Here's one to education! :cozytf2mug:
70% of the games themselves are already in the process of language you can play GTA in German you can play full games In your language at least here I will have my desire to change the dollar to the Israeli shekel but not possible but the opposite will not? I envy you for having your language here

game localizations are not done by valve. they are added by the developers/publishers. take that issue up with the respective developers/publishers of said games, if you desire to have hebrew localization done for said games.

for the matter of the steam clients localization, you would have to get more israelis to use steam. only that way, will hebrew localization become a reality.

Losing your business is almost certainly cheaper than rebuilding the client to support right to left languages. I hope you considered it a statement rather than a threat.

Note that RTL languages are poorly supported in most game engine and 3rd party plugins and addons etc. Most string manipulation tools assume LTR, most text/font rendering tools assume LTR.

Even with LTR and Unicode and CJK being much better than it was just 10 years ago, we still have weird things where shadows don't work because you're playing in French

https://twitter.com/yaoilowell/status/1412777806405148686

Did you ensure all your stuff uses InvariantCulture? So you're fine right? WRONG

https://twitter.com/glassbottommeg/status/1413568217386160128

That being said RTL is getting slightly better over time. Its not improving as much as CJK did 10 years ago though. But hopefully there will be a time we look back on the troubles of RTL in the same way we look back on how bad CJK used to be today.

Do not forget that the Hebrew language existed 3500 years before

This is not first come, first served. Language priority is (probably) based on number of speakers. Hebrew is not that high in that list.

There are 30,000 users in Israel.
That's like 1,1% of Steam users. Last record was from May 2021, peaking at 26.85 million concurrent users.

It's funny how some people think that adding another language is done just like that.

The amount of work to translate everything into just 1 other language is massive. The volunteer translators are already doing amazing work and putting in hundreds if not thousands of hours to help translate and make both the games and the community side of Steam available in more languages.

For anyone that's interested take a look on https://translation.steampowered.com/ and learn more about what's going with translating on Steam.

On top of that aren't most Israelis multilingual? So a tiny percentage of the users speak that language natively but they also speak supported languages?

I think you need to not only play games but also learn history I am an Israeli American just like I was born in Boston and live in Israel My full right to have my own language and support here I am here just like anyone from any country The English language was created by mixing English and German and the two countries get a language here separately funny

Is it easy to change the payment from dollar to shekel? Because give us a convenient name? And not in our language?

My full right to have my own language...

Communication in any language on a private enterprise isn't a right, it's a privilege. Valve aren't under any obligation to provide the platform or support in any other language than those lain out by state laws (which in Washington state might extend to Spanish, but I think it might be one of the states that doesn't actually have an official language).

Berga that a private company raises languages and leaves others on the side of discrimination
It's like Google was created by the Jews of Windows 10 and 11, live combustion was created in Israel by Israeli engineers and all the new processors were created in Israel by computers
Even Nike was created by a Jew and WhatsApp waze and many other Israeli companies can say hello Windows 11 that will only be in Hebrew Or Nike that will only have an Israeli logo or Google or Facebook only in Hebrew but it does not work that way

Allocating resources to serve larger bases of uses in the interest of increasing capital in those demographics is not discrimination.

Nothing you're randomly ranting about matters. This is Steam, not Facebook or Nike or Google or whatever random thing you wanna ramble about.

I want to feel like a French person who gets up in the morning makes coffee and sits here or a German where he drinks beer in his mouth and enjoys his language I pay a lot of money here and I deserve a little normal treatment and feel belonged

You're not entitled to anything more than what you paid for; the games and whatever microtransactions you might have made to pimp out your profile.
