Impossible to get trading cards for movies/videos

Trading cards don't drop for watching movies through Steam anymore (since they made it play through browser instead of their own video player). Seems like this is a somewhat important bug.

Movie support was discontinued years ago. Most movies can't even be accessed anymore, let alone farmed.

Well they are still sold on the store and as far as I am concerned still play...

4 years old and Valve discontinued drops for watching movies because people abused it.

Why would people abuse it, it's the exact same thing as is currently done for games. You pay for the game/movie, then as it runs over time, the cards drop. There's no difference to what is still done through regular games.

Also, it is still possible to get the drops by running external software that farms it for you. So it still can definitely be "abused" through that. I don't want to have to go through the trouble of using software and making fake play time with it.
