If you want a simple "doubleclick and stuff just works"-experience, you may want to switch to Windows (the license cost of which is easily downplayed by cost for games and hardware to run games).
If you want someone to handhold you through the whole process of getting stuff to run under Proton, you may find better luck in the Steam-on-Linux forum.
