Steam Play, proton linux games not working
Using the latest build of Manjaro I am trying to launch games like Eve, and Everquest 1 using steam play. All propriety drivers for my graphics card etc were installed with Manjaro linux installation. I have tried proton experimental, and the 6.0 version and the game either fails to launch or I get a launcher with a white and/or black screen. I have set my steam account to op in for beta also. Really not sure why none of these games are not working. How do I get them to work?

Have you checked with ProtonDB whether there's tweaks for that particular game(s)?

yea , several seem to be listed here Eve link [www.protondb.com] but I dont see a download button, or anyway to install one. That website is a bit confusing.

Welcome to Linux gaming where tweaking is imperative.
What download button do you expect though? From reading this page, I find stuff like
using Proton-6.14-GE-1 with the wine upstream launcher fix
and
Customizations:
Custom Proton
Proton-6.14-GE-1
Both from 3 days ago, so those are still up-to-date (for obvious reasons, years-old tweaks shall go unnoticed).
So now you open the search engine of your choice and look for "proton 6.14-GE-1". Here's my results:
https://www.bing.com/search?PC=U523&q=proton+6.14-GE-1
Go from there.

If you want a simple "doubleclick and stuff just works"-experience, you may want to switch to Windows (the license cost of which is easily downplayed by cost for games and hardware to run games).

If you want someone to handhold you through the whole process of getting stuff to run under Proton, you may find better luck in the Steam-on-Linux forum.

Thanks for the help, was able to find a tutorial on installing a custom proton. Appreciate it. Works like a charm =)
