What functions of Steam use the most internet Data?

Does anyone happen to know what functions on Steam uses the most Internet Data? and if I could turn it off to lessen the amount used? Once I saw it used 400gbs or something within 30 days and I was baffled. The only game I play on PC is Left 4 Dead 2 or Among Us. I have a lot of mods on L4D.

Those are pretty much the only things I use steam for. I am confused because people post online that Steam would use even less than streaming services. I don't know if this applies to YT as well, but I would see that Steam is always the one using the most internet data on my network settings from my windows computer.

Currently,

Steam - 85.28 gb

Chrome - 23.86 gb

I've turned off auto updates for the majority of my games. I use Chrome way more than I would be playing anything from steam.

You need to go into the steam client settings and choose LIBRARY and look for the click boxes for Low Bandwidth and other such things, and see if that has an effect.

Of course steam uses internet. It's an *online service*. If you're using *coop and pvp* games like L4d and Among Us, what exactly do you think is going to happen? They REQUIRE connectivity, and thus that uses bandwidth.

Changing the client's to low may help you, but... if you're on a metered connectino you really need to think of different hobbies than things that suck down that meter...

I think you mix up installed games and internet traffic, hey i can be wrong,
but mine is in MB not GB in webhelper.

if dlear cookie and webcache dont help you inside steam client , then i it can only be in common apps you might have a games there thats still there are are hidden or not uninstalled or seen as uninstalled, atleast that will explan the data size

its not that other user has not seen it before. but still you that can check it out.
do note steam install games in a sub folder under steam. if you delete them steam games will be removed

Okay one, no ♥♥♥♥ I know that playing games IS an online service. So quit being so condescending.

Two, I asked other friends of mine that play games just as much as I do and their Chrome data usage is more than Steam's.

Chrome - 17.78 gbs

Steam - 7.51 gbs

I'm trying to figure out why Steam had 400 gbs used previously. Thanks for the input, but maybe don't be a ♥♥♥♥ next time.
