2fa to new phone

Hello,

So i just got a new iphone, and i used a backup from my old iphone to set up the new iphone.
It automaticly installed the steamapp.
I launch the steamapp from the new phone and i needed a code, (i got a code from my old phone/steamapp)
I logged in, but when i go to the tab 'steam guard' on the new phone there are NO codes wich i can use to login.

Did i do something wrong?

thing is, im already logged into the new phone, the codes are just not there

Try uninstalling and install it fresh. Possibly it didn't like the transfer from the old phone.

Mine certainly didn't when i switched Android phones.

I got it, i signed out and tried signing in again, and used the option "Please help, I no longer have access to my Mobile Authenticator codes.", it sended me a text with a code, wich i used to login, and now i see the 2fa codes on the new phone.

At least Steam is easy to transfer. Other apps were more ... troublesome.

funny you mention it, i still dont know how i transfer the google authenticator from not my previous phone but the phone before that to my new phone.

when i got my (previous) new phone i just couldnt figure out how to transfer the google authenticator to the newer phone.

Till this day i still have my 2nd old phone just because of the google authenticator

In the Google Authenticator you can generate a QR code on your old phone you just need to scan with the new one.

In the android app it's in the menu in the top right corner, transfer accounts or similar.

If the qr transfer does not work, you need the setup codes of each one.

At once write down the setup code when you enable 2fa somehwere.
So if one day the auth app fails, you can easily recover an instance without losing access to the accounts.

I think you must disconnect steam app from old phone first. I not recomendate this on summer sale now but you can write ticket to support maybe can helped

also for some miracle i transferd the google authenticators from my old 2 phones using the qr code thing to my new phone.

I dont know know why it was this easy now.
