Close Steam.
Uninstall UPlay and download and install the latest Ubisoft Connect, the successor to UPlay.
For context, I'm a Linux gamer. To manually reinstalling Ubisoft connect would be a hassle, as I would have to locate, run, and install it in the correct wine prefix steamplay use for that game.
However, the solution seemed to be as simple as changing what proton version to use for the game, and it reinstalled the correct ubisoft crap.
Still, I would trust it more to just give me the keys as a fallback.
Could have provided that context a tad earlier ;).
Even though i am a Windows gamer, i have nothing against Linux.
Now that I can play.. well. I got a new problem. Ground textures won't render. Seem to be specifically only the ground, and only the flat parts. But that's a separate issue altogether.
Seems you're not the only one missing ground textures.
