If you can't play your Origin games, that will affect your Steam games as well. The ones requiring logging into Origin, that is
So I guess the latter..
OK, so that's a no then.. :/
In the meantime - If your account is banned then it cannot be used nor any current games you have on it which also includes any games linked with your current Steam account.
Games purchased on Steam require an Origin account but best to check the store page for any EA games you have on Steam to see which require an Origin account and drop the ones that do in to your library as a collection.
The future is dependant on EA Support's response but if the decision is no to unbanning then all you can do is create a new Steam account specifically for Origin games as well as a new Origin account linked to the new Steam account.
Does this mean, that in the case, the ban is not lifted, I cannot make a new EA account and use that with my current Steam account? The banned account will stay linked permanently?
You can only link one Origin account to a Steam account and to unlink it, it has to be done on Origin not Steam. The issue is those purchases on Steam were linked to your banned Origin account and those licences are not transferable by linking a new Origin account.
You could ask EA to clarify this but do not get your hopes up that those licences on Steam will transfer to your new Origin account. The licence which activates the game and proves you bought the game links to your banned Origin account.
If an EA account is banned you can still contact support via the web to sort out issues but every thing else is restricted and the OP did mention their account was banned.
It could be a glitch with Origin not loading the library but I just tested it and it works fine.
Reinstalling Origin over the current install may fix the issue, if there is one.
I did receive an email, that said my account was banned for violating user agreement or terms of sale, with immediate effect.
When starting Origin, it asks me to login. I do and then the program starts. It then tells me to login, to see my library, etc, but that login won't work, saying;. "Login is not available at the moment". (most likely it does the same on the initial login, but just doesn't show the message)
And same on the EA support page. I can login, but if I try to see/change any account information, it either gives an error or tells me to login. And that login again doesn't work.
I can only make a support request, or change the account password.
Btw, I initially thought the e-mail was spam and I tried to login on Origin, but it didn't work.
As a side note, I mostly play only SP. Only online/co-op games on my Origin are Anthem and couple NFS games.
But like I said, the initial login most likely just fails, but the message is not shown.
If you did not cause a ban, they should fix it
"We wish to notify you that we have found your account to be in violation of our user agreement or terms of sale, and due to the nature of this violation we are left with no option other than permanently close your account with immediate effect."
And then about billings/billing information not to be attached anymore to the account.
And a link to dispute the ban. (made mine through the support website, not the link, but did open it later from the link and it opened the same page)
