About EA/Origin games on Steam, when EA account is banned
Hi!

My EA account was banned a few days ago, I have no idea why. I hadn't played anything on Origin for 1-2 months and double checking the terms, I supposedly had violated, there wasn't anything, that I had done. I have contacted EA support about the ban, to hopefully get it rectified.

So my question is related to it;
If I have or purchase a game on Steam, that requires to be linked to an EA account, will that game work/activate on Steam regardless of the EA account being banned?
There are couple games, that I was considering buying before the ban and would still want to, that are also available on Steam. Don't know if any of the games I have on Steam atm, needs to be linked with the EA account, so can't check myself. And I don't want to buy the games, just to find out I can't play them because of the ban and waste my money.

Based of that I would see it as a legitimate ban.
It is debateable if a complete removal of all games you ever bought is a legitimate ban,
especially if one does not even know about having done wrong.

I literally based that off the OP providing the details of the email.

And now they confirmed they went through this process on Monday in post #26

It can happen for something like a failed payment.
Or "something unknown" in fifa. By what i read others saying

Just checking that was the way you contacted them and I assume was linked in the email.
Yeah, I went through the support pages to the "dispute an account ban". (not named that way, just as a reference, as I can't remember the exact wording) And checked the link in the email afterwards to open the same page.
And I do have an open case on the support site, checked it frequently the first couple of days, but figured I will get an email notification if and when it gets a reply.

Now it is a waiting game but hopefully you will either have a reversal or at least understand why it was applied. Good luck.

Specific recently:
Did you subscribe to EA Play on Steam and registered the keys on Origin permanently?

I'm not sure of the first, but I'm fairly sure the latter would get you an account termination, and you might want to think up a good excuse for when they ask.

Nope to all of those. Last game I purchased on Origin was NFS Heat in February I think. I did add NFS Payback to Origin prolly last month. But no subcriptions or anything.
Basically I've had no activity for over a month on Origin, other than the autologin when my comp bootsup. And I have a dedicated gaming comp and separate "office" comp, so not daily, maybe couple times a week on average

Bans are not instant. They may have over that month or prior to that been investigating and you may not be the only one they banned.

Yeah, did give that a thought today and asked if the friends I played NFS Heat with had been banned aswell, but apparently not, 1 of them replied today. (we only played together or SP, not against other people)
But anyway, I have never done anything that would be considered violating either of the terms, that supposedly was violated.

1 possible reason I can think of though, when I purchased NFS Heat, my Paypal showed 2 payments for it, other 1 completed and other 1 pending. I was worried it being a continuing monthly payment, or something, but the pending one disappeared some days later. And that was in February.
But that again would be an error, as the payment did go through for the game.

They may have given a reason and the OP is not telling us.

I agree it does not make sense especially when the OP is waiting on a response from EA with regard to the ban but maybe they could not post on the EA forums due to the ban so they thought I will post here.

I posted here to ask about the EA and Steam account linking. But the conversation shifted towards the ban itself.
And the only reason they gave, was that "your account is in violation of our user agreement or terms of sale". No details.
