About EA/Origin games on Steam, when EA account is banned
Hi!

My EA account was banned a few days ago, I have no idea why. I hadn't played anything on Origin for 1-2 months and double checking the terms, I supposedly had violated, there wasn't anything, that I had done. I have contacted EA support about the ban, to hopefully get it rectified.

So my question is related to it;
If I have or purchase a game on Steam, that requires to be linked to an EA account, will that game work/activate on Steam regardless of the EA account being banned?
There are couple games, that I was considering buying before the ban and would still want to, that are also available on Steam. Don't know if any of the games I have on Steam atm, needs to be linked with the EA account, so can't check myself. And I don't want to buy the games, just to find out I can't play them because of the ban and waste my money.

I have contacted them, but the reply could take up to a month.

As both ReBoot and i have stated wait on EA Support to get back to you and clarify the position as I can only highlight I have full access to my Origin account including the client library and all features,
The chat is real time.
But you must imagine to chat with a young machine. Explain and show.

And a link to dispute the ban. (made mine though the support website, not the link, but did open it later from the link and it opened the same page)

Based of that I would see it as a legitimate ban.

Well first of all, I can't find a chat on the EA sites. And selecting the support request information, there is no option to select chat, or anything else.

Holy ♥♥♥♥, that's evil! Can't say I'm surprised, but still...

When you get booted off Steam (for, let's say, credit card fraud), you can still play all your previous purchases (while can't buy anything new because fraud). Having your account closed so you can't access anything you've paid for prior is, I am inclined to think, legally rather qestionable.

Just looked into this.

This is the only way to contact them as bans are handled by dedicated team and chat, phone, email will not speed things up.

Yeah, no doubt about that. They will reply eventually, IF they will. But just have to wait.

Thinking the same also. And seems they have removed the offline playability I mentioned aswell.

Do you happen to live in a place with active customer protection agencies? Because ripping everything you 've (completely) paid prior out of your hands indeed smells like "legally questionable". And depending on how civilized the place you live in happens to be, you might have customer protection agencies to contact, instead of "unless you moneyz to pay lawyer->you screwed".

It is debateable if a complete removal of all games you ever bought is a legitimate ban,
especially if one does not even know about having done wrong.

Just to add on that, I checked the User agreement and Terms of sale and have not done anything, that would violate either one.
But another matter is, do they believe it. It's basically impossible for me to prove that.

Just checking that was the way you contacted them and I assume was linked in the email.
