Question about Steam store country change and region locked games
Hiya, I'm currently based in Hong Kong but I will be travelling between Hong Kong and UK for the next year or so. Games on Steam in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) are cheaper than in British Pounds (GBP), and I will maintain a Hong Kong credit card throughout this period.

Q1. If I'm in the UK, would I have to change my Steam country to UK in order to play games in the library which I previously purchased in HK?

Q2. If I'm in the UK, can I still make purchases of games on Steam store in HKD? Would I be forced to change my Steam country to UK and make purchases in GBP only?

Q3. I'm a fan of the Yakuza series, and I know some of the games are region-locked in that they have North America, Europe and SE Asia versions (the last one includes HK). If I purchase a SE Asia version in HK, can I still play it in UK?

Q4. (Follow up to Q3.) If I can play it in UK, would I have to install the SE Asia version first in HK and keep it installed in order to play it in UK? What happens if I install it in HK, uninstall it and then reinstall it in UK? Or is it just unnecessary to install the game in HK first - in other words, can I install and play the SE Asia version for the first time in UK?

1) No.

2) You must have a payment method applicable to your physical location and the store set to that location to make purchases if you are resident in that country. I am unsure with regard to travelling between HK and UK so wait on other replies.

3) Get Xbox Game Pass (currently £1 in the UK for 3 months) - all Yakuza Games are on there.

4) Your library goes with you.

EDIT: Thanks to Muppet among puppets for clarifying point 2 of my post.

If you travel back and forth, and you have a hk payment, you can keep hk store on travels.
