summer sale xp help
hi, i'm sort of new to steam as this is my first summer sale. I was wondering if anyone could help me with figuring out what to do to gain the most xp this event the best/most affordable way. I was told to buy the trading cards but that would be like $300+ to reach the level I want.

I don't know if I should just buy a few games, or buy the summer sale trading cards, or if there is some other way I don't know of. I just wanted to reach level 100 before the event ends.

Steam XP is tied to money one way or another. To get the seasonal badge (which grants XP), you need Steam points which you get MOSTLY from purchases. Well, you can also get those as rewards for your profile & community content, but that's not exactly reliable.

Then there's the sales badge, the cards for which you get by, you guessed it, spending money.

The FASTEST way to gain Steam XP is money. There's no way around that.

If you want to go the cheap route, you got a couple of options. First and foremost, complete your community badge (if not already done). Then, follow through the discovery queue daily. That'll net you at least one level of the sale badge.

You gotta admit, Steam being a store, neigh-everything being tied to money kinda makes sense.

That said, you can earn quite a lot of points from community content, it just takes a while.

that's true, I realized I would have to spend some money but I didn't realize how much. I always saw people who would have these event badges that were like 20,000 to 50,000xp and thought that there was something I was missing out on.

3 days and over 10k in points on a subpar meme-ish review.

I dare to say, going for cheap fame/gain may work, but may just as well end up a gigantic waste of times. Many try, few succeed.

It wasn't my intention to do that but it somehow gained a lot of views and kept it near the top for nearly a week.
