speed test says 16 mb/s but steam says 150kb/s

are steam servers in malaysia slow? or is the speed test innacurate? no one else is using the wifi but me downloading.

Change the download region, try all of them, even those far away.
Some always have problems during a big sale and congested routes/servers.

Keep in mind that Steam is distributing data at over 2,000 Gigabytes per second right now.
That's a lot of traffic.

atleast i respect OP for make own post and not wake necro outdate same issue from years ago.
but @Cathulhu already reply on the subject.
and i bet problem goes away then sale event is over. and traffic should retur to normal.
