Steam is having trouble connecting to the steam servers and no fixes in sight
Hi I've been having trouble with steam not being able to connect to steam servers for a several days now and it basically just started out of nowhere. I've scowered steam and other forums for fixes and none of them worked included running as administrator, resetting winsock, adding tcp to the end of start, changing my dns, reseting my dns, reinstalling, turning off the firewall, deleting all files except steam and steam apps then running, and loads of other weird supposed fixes etc and none of them worked. Many of these fixes like the deleting al filels except steam and steam apps actually lead to more problems which I then had to (successfully) trouble shoot. The only possible thing I can think of that could be getting in the way of the connection would be a program that can be getting in the way of the connection. Thing is I don't know if this is the case and if its safe to just start randomly ending loads of task with task manager. Please help and much thanks this ♥♥♥♥ has been really pissing me off, just bought new game too.

Also I vaguely remember having this problem and being stuck as well, but I don't remember how it was solved. I think it just went away. However I'm really not trying to just wait around since my next semester in college is about to start.

Ask own ISP, if they have traffic issue into stream.

ps.
This included Isp and there partners, and is not a steam issue.

i dont work for steam , and look at it from a network point of view, and point at, what if it's own ISP into steam issue.

Have the same problem for about 2 weeks. And the problem comes suddenly from nowhere.

Alvin2002Lin did you solve the problem? The main problem with steam api, especially ISteamUserAuth
I solved. :) After long talk to my internet provider solution was like a magic^)

I'm working through router, so tech of my ISP says "Try to connect the internet cable directly to your computer". I did it and my steam began work properly. Than I put inet cable again in router and SUDDENLY steam began work properly also connecting through router. And that was magic for me, because I don't understand why the simple reconnection of internet cable from router - directly to computer - than again to router is the solution of this problem.

I’m so sorry for the late reply like I said I’ve started college. The thing is I have a laptop so I can’t connect my router to my laptop. Know any way around this?

Look i dont want to sit and defend Steam or ISP, but i bet you can see logic in it ISPcan also be a problem and i hav said it 1000 of times, and it look like comunication between router and hes ISP ( Jonny ) atleast that is part of the problem and maybe worst explanation from ISP, look like port negociation issue set it to 1000mb on wan port, again that a tough one who's fault is that. both or each side of hardware or configuration, and no i will not say its ISP alone, there are such issue sometimes.

OP can you get a spare pc or friends laptop, to confirm same issue or even better point at you have a pc issue.
i have said it many times in other post just not here.

try see it as double check where this is come from own pc own router own network , ISP and there partner's or Steam in other end.

im sure your service "steam client service 32bit" is running and such like that , again why you test with other pc to cut through all the crap here. ( sorry fauthy finding in a nutshell is maybe better explanation. )

point is if you had 9 out 10 pc working im sure you narrow it down to ahh that pc.
even that help you more then you know even if you did not know with what atm.
