Can't play YouTube videos through Steam. Help?

So a buddy of mine sent me a link to a video he wants me to watch, but everytime I click on the video, I get this message "An error occurred. Please Try Again later" & a bunch of random numbers/letters. Can you guys help me? I couldn't find a proper solution :/

I didn't have this issue before, maybe 2-3 weeks ago.

Sometimes YT/Steam is funny. Have you tried just watching directly through YT?

Been experiencing this for a few weeks now. There's quite a few problems with the client since they did the library update.

Yes, direct YouTube works fine. Just doesn't work through steam :/

Yeah man, it's kinda annoying since usually I like to use steam's web browser overlay to listen to YouTube videos while gaming. It's nice to have multiple tabs opened like YT, Twitch, Google, etc just by Shift+Tabbing. If it's on steams side, hope it gets fixed soon :)

You need to have the latest version of Flash player installed to view video content in Steam. Please follow these directions to get the right version for Steam.

The New YouTube Terms, makes using YouTube on STEAM,
entirely Useless now anyways...

I think YouTube has gone Kid Friendly now, I dun think i'd
want STEAM anywhere Near it...



But if you want STEAM to connect to YouTube, good luck...

Also, in my experience, it took me forever to get YouTube
to connect to STEAM, it was a real headache to get working,
not something we need to Frustrate ourselves with, the whole
concept of how you connect is just terrible...

Works without Flash installed. Fun fact: a while ago, videos worked fine without Flash but not at all with Flash installed.

As far as i'm aware, Flash Player is Ending it's Term of Use very, very soon,
if not already...

They don't even know if they will replace it with anything yet, & it's
END OF TERM is almost up... Or is Up already...

I honestly, don't want it to go away, or get replaced with anything...

I like Flash the way it is, I know how it works, & I can use it for Animations,
with switching to Video format, all of this becomes useless...

Video Formats Allows Audio, & makes the Animation Process a lot more
Complicated, & I don't want any of that involved with the Animated GIF
Process...


If you intend to do anything with Flash, now is the Time, because it won't
be around much longer, & the sooner you do your stuff with it, the better
your off, because after the Change, you won't be able to use it anymore...
