I know, I've read that little discussion and didn't get me any wiser. Makes it sounds like PvP, so I still don't know the difference between PvEvP and PvP. That topic is related to one specific game, and I'm more interested in a more general explanation, not specific to one game or genre.
So it's closer to PvP than it is to PvE?
Think of something like a typical MMO, where you can fight enemy NPCs and other players.
I've always considered anything where players could attack players a PvP game mode, regardless of any NPCs, but I guess from a PvP perspective it makes sense to specify wether NPCs are also present.
The PvEvP thing kept showing up while I was searching for PvE games, that's why I'm wondering what it was. Thanks for the help! :)
PvEvP is more interesting if you're into PvP first and foremost, but want to spice that up a bit.
That's the thing, even searching for 'co-op' yields plenty of PvP-only games as search results, as obviously any game you play in a team requires co-operation and thus can be tagged as a co-op game.
