Stuck in text entry in Big Picture after on-screen keyboard disappears. How can I get out of this screen without losing all my progress by force-quitting the game?
While playing No Man's Sky, whenever I'm prompted to rename a creature or base while using Big Picture with a controller, I'm presented with an on-screen QWERTY keyboard with a blue background.

First issue: this on-screen keyboard is absolutely terrible. You cannot use the D-pad to click one key to the left or one key up. Instead, it forces you to use the analog left stick to move the selected key around, which is awful because half the time, it goes back to the one you were already on or it goes up instead of left or twice left instead of once left etc. (And no, it's not my controller; my controller works perfectly with Xbox Series X on-screen keyboard which works well).

Second issue: the on-screen keyboard's predictive text doesn't match the case of the word you're typing. So if your word is capitalized, and you select a word to auto-complete to, now it won't be capitalized anymore.

Third issue: the on-screen keyboard does not let you move the cursor back without deleting. So you can't go back and correct just the capitalization of the first letter of a word that was butchered by Steam's horrible autocorrect, you have to retype the whole damn thing.

Fourth issue (aka WORST issue): sometimes when pressing Start button to submit the entry, or when pressing return if I elected to type the word in with a physical keyboard after entering text entry using a controller, instead of dismissing the entire text entry screen, only the on-screen keyboard part goes away. So then I'm left with just a blue screen and a text field, with NO WAY TO GET OUT OF IT OTHER THAN FORCE-QUITTING THE GAME.

This is super freaking annoying because I just spent 30 minutes building a new base in NMS, and now, I'm stuck in your damn Big Picture text entry screen with no on-screen keyboard and no way to exit out of the screen. Escape, B button, Start button, all the F-keys, windows key, nothing works. Tried every possible key combo I could think of, and nothing works.

WHY IS YOUR STEAM BIG PICTURE ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD SO TERRIBLE? WHY WAS IT DESIGNED SO TERRIBLY IN THE FIRST PLACE? DO YOU EVEN CARE?

Valve/Steam takes a HUGE percentage from all the game sales on your store, but then you can't even bother to hire decent designers and programmers to make sure that the user experience isn't a buggy mess with terrible graphics that look like a bad console designed in 1994? What the hell man?:steamfacepalm:

With all due respect, if the problem is that you simply can't find any good developers to make your Big Picture mode not suck then please PM me and myself and a couple of my senior engineer co-workers at my company will quit our jobs and come work for you. We'll make Steam Big Picture awesome. It may be too early to begin salary negotiations, but you'll have to get close to $150k/year plus $140k/year in stock options with WFH.

Believe me, that horrific startup sound alone with its abrupt end and way-too-loud gain settings is so cringe-worthy I can't believe that anyone at Valve even uses Big Picture or else this would have been fixed years ago.
