How to prevent controller double input in CoDWarzone
There seems to be a conflict between Warzone Controller settings and steam desktop controller settings. I need to turn steam off for warzone to work properly.

Is this bug known, is there a solution?

The same as always: disable Steam's input mapper. Is CoD Warzone even on Steam?

No, but the exgame windows desktop functions conflict with battle.net.
F.e. the screenkeyboard function pops up while ingame.
How to disable the mapping?

You already have the solution as noted in your OP post - turn Steam off.

Disable "exgame" desktop functionality in Steam. No need to change anything about the mapping, disable the functionality itself.

Yes, but the thing is that i like the mousecontroll with the joystick in windows, because else i need at least mouse or keyboard extra on the couch. It would be nice if it gets in stand by mode while playing non steam games. You know what i mean?

Disable gamepad input in the game
If you want Steam to make your gamepad act like a mouse/keyboard on your desktop, it does exactly that. Some game will then get both, so have this game ignore one.

Sorry, can you be more precise in your suggestions? What do you mean?

Warzone works best with its own controller set up and i can't make it ignore steam input.

Disable Warzone's own gamepad input, so it won't get any gamepad input. Instead, it'll get KBM input from Steam.

Hey,

It doesnt work. Warzone still prefers its own settings (even when i switch to keyboard/mouse input mode) and the conflict is stil present.

And its also unsatisfying because it would also mean to ignore Warzones ingame controller settings, which are not overtaken by the steam settings.

A standby function would be the best solution in my opinion. Or a blacklist for games, something like that.

But doesn't Warzone have it's own settings? So you can disable gamepad usage there?

Anyway, start the game through Steam. When started through Steam, Steam knows there's a game running. This way, Steam's desktop settings won't apply anymore, problem solved.

I still don't know what you mean by "disable gamepad usage there".

I couldn't find any option to disable steam gamepad settings for Warzone. And you cant completely disable warzone gamepad usage in the ingame options. It automatically changes its input, depending what you are doing (keyboard/gamepad)

And sorry to ask you this, but are you even familiar with warzone or are you just giving generic answers?

I don't need to be familiar with Warzone, this stuff works pretty much the same. Makes sense, same OS, same drivers... There's a couple of different input selection models. A setting is one. What you just described is another. Than there's the IMHO dumbass one where you press a key on either of the devices at the start of the game and that gets selected then (daym, that sucks).

Are you butthurt, because you wanted me to tell you exactly the steps to do, while I'm gathering some information, which would be what I'd be doing if I was having technical trouble in the gaming or other department?

Anyway, start the game through Steam as I told you previously.

its not working because the game doesnt even start. "starting the game" starts the battle.net launcher and from there it doesnt start. it says launching and then does nothing.

Did you buy the game on battle.net? If so contact battle.net support. I never had this issue. From battle.net.

1. In Windows, go to your Start menu or Windows search box and type in or look for Device Manager and open/launch it.

Click on View and Show Hidden Devices, and look for Windows xBox 360 Controllers on the bottom.

Delete all controllers listed in there and reboot your computer.

It should be fixed, if not, then try fix number 2.

Fix 2: Open/Launch Steam and put it into Big Picture Mode.

In Big Picture Mode go to Settings, then Controller configuration.

In the Controller Configuration menu (it should display an xBox Controller), select the D-Pad (Directional Pad).

Select Advanced Settings and then turn off Haptics Intensity.

Save your config and enjoy.
