Playing off internet?
I was wondering if I could grab a laptop and play offline games on a flight, or will it require access to my account in order for me to play?

You can play in Offline Mode, just make sure that you start the game at least once in online mode before going offline -- and make sure there are no updates queued.

Edit: Also, some games do require online checks, but all Steam requires is that you go online once.

Edit 2: Forgot this, "Remember my password" MUST be checked as well. Here's the official information: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0E18-319B-E34B-B2C8

Depends on each game.
Pure online games will not work offline. But there also a fair share of SP games which cannot be played offline.

Just download the games in question, launch them at least once online. Restart your laptop, go offline and try to launch them. That way you will know what can be played, what not. Gives you the chance to kick all the games wont work and replace with something else if storage space is at limit.
