Shortcuts broken and not working
After that seems like a crash, my games became blank shortcuts stopped working it also happened to my epic games

From an older post...

Go to Library - Games. Select the game you want to fix the blank shortcut icon for. Right click on the game, select Properties.

Select the "Local Files" tab. Click the button "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache".

After verifying has finished (it may take a while) a new game icon has been created in your Steam installation steam/games folder.

Right click on the blank icon, select Properties and change the icon by hitting the "Change Icon..." button, navigating to and selecting the newly created icon file. Hit "OK" twice and have fun!

thanks but it still didnt work plus i dont think you can change icons anymore
i fixed this before with changing .url but a crash i think broke them again
