help with game booster programs
Hi. A friend of mine told me the other day that I could use some "Game Booster Program" to close most hidden apps on windows in order to improve the performancein some games.

Can anyone recomend me one of these programs or, if it goes against steam's rules, tell me?

I have Win 10, i5-2400, 8GB Ram and a Geforce 210 GPU.
Please refrain to comment things like "Buy a better card". My kitchen and my refrigerator died recently leaving me with enough money to only eating hard bread with water.

GOG (Good Old Games) is basically Steam without DRM. They're very reputable and dependable.

https://www.gog.com/

Even though they sell current games, they specialise in older titles, some which aren't even available on Steam. GOG's older games are tested and usually work without much hassle. Also, the community is very active and friendly and should be able to give you an idea if games will run well on your hardware or not.

The best part is that GOG, unlike Steam, has a 30 day refund period, so if you do run into technical issues the window for refunding is much greater.

The "booster" isn't going to be of much use...my recommendation is to just play some older games. There are some amazing gems here on steam and especially on GOG.

Is GOG a platform like steam or something? I have bad experiences with playing old games on steam. For example i can play my old retal RE4 just fine. But when I bought it on steam it would go so slow that I ended up refunding it.

You could try Windows 10 bult-in "Game mode", and see if it makes a difference:

It sems that was already active. I will have to stick with ancient game for longer then.
I gues my biggest obstacle is the GPU, right?
