Steam download speed drops to 0bytes/s ,
When im downloading anything from steam my download drops to very low amounts after couple minutes or even seconds of normal downloading, for example: I tried to download fallout 4 which weighs like 30gb and after i dwonloaded the first gigabyte at 13mb/s speed it just drops to 0bytes/s for like 5 seconds and raises to like 500kb/s for 5 seconds and repeat. it's only a steam issue because downloading on epic games, origin etc. goes really good. I tried changing my region, reinstalling steam, and even reseting my whole pc and still nothing fixed. I'm having this issue for almost a year now and im getting rally tired of it. CAn anyone help me with this?

This subject is a dead horse that's been beaten so many times it's not recognizable as a horse anymore. There are too many reasons to list that could be the cause, main one being Peak Times which you are in right now with it being almost 1pm in the afternoon in Poland.

Google is your friend. You'll find a lot of suggestions that might be of help but they might also be a waste of time to try because it just might be that the internet is busy right now.

Thousands of similar threads on this subject can be found using a search engine that have resulted in the same answer: There probably isn't anything that can be done about it.

Not using a search engine to find an answer, first, is being completely useless to one self. Answers can be found to just about anything in seconds vs waiting a day or more.

I mean you coulda just said "google the forums this has been asked before" instead of writing a snarky and unhelpful 12 page essay. You could have even just ignored the post, forcing them to search for an answer.

My reply was 5 lines.
Sit and spin.

You're not being helpful or on topic at all. All you're doing is insulting. My reply was at least a little helpful, and on topic. Please remind yourself of the forum guidelines.
Grow up, go away.

if you done all the steam help in network trouble shooting.

and recheck with change DL zone , and reboot router and update its driver and netcard driver and cable, and speedtest. even bypass own router if Rj45 is wallplug to isp to ruleout own router
( confirm with friends laptop ) then its possible OWN ISP into steam,
and that why you did the friends test to confirm or deny same test, then you have a pc issue.

this is to avoid own mistake, depend on ISP bill you for own mistake.

and then contact own ISP

do note.
steam can show bits per sec. ( many keep get it wrong ) but thst dont explan isp throttle or congestion in isp network or them they work with.)

all this is simple and complicated as hell depend on user knowledge of it.

free free to also contact steam support, you never know , but most will bet on own isp only issue.

All games download and install differently.
Both download and unpacking can happen at the same time or be independent of each other.

When a download stops check the disk activity, files are unpacking, installinb. The download will resume when finished or both processes may function at the same time.

It all depends on how the developer structured their game and how Steam then handles the download, unpacking and install process.

thanks kusa, so many other things can also be part of the issue.

yeah let thow in alot more worst case senario.

lets see worst case , laptop in battery mode and wifi and OS has 1 harddisk with split size dont make it better

maybe we should explan it from that viewpoint. ( dont have U processor in top of all this. )
it maybe not help OP , but i bet other that do have such setup could have issue with not know that drawback of such can cause.

ohh maybe even VPN so alot more traffic jumps dont get through and get even more slow DL rates.
