Xbox Game Bar error is stopping me from playing anything in my Steam library
Basically as the title describes, the app is stopping me from playing anything, this only started today, The game starts up, but just before the menu pops up i am then prompted with "Xbox Game Bar is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft Store and try again. Here's the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001"

Whats more annoying is the game is still running, music playing the whole thing just minimized, any attempt to open it up results in the game bar prompt over and over.

Obviously ive followed this to the store, updated it ,and all that, and it was all no help.
Ive even tried software to forcefully remove the game bar and still getting this prompt.
I dont even use game bar or even anything to do with microsoft games on pc, and whats extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is that this is effecting my steam games, nothing to do with microsoft!

Really frustrating after the day to sit down and find this crap, and cant find a way to solve it.
Trying to look online for a solution, but it seems like a somewhat unique problem, so i thought where else to as but here!

If any of ye have seen the problem or have any idea on what might solve/be causing it, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks fer reading! :)

I got this exact same issue actually. When you get that message with the error code, doesn't it allow you to close and ignore it? I had an option for that (with the other popup button being copying the data to a clipboard). After closing it, I've Alt + Tab my way into games without further issues. But yeah, I think you can also just disable it through an XBox controller, or via Windows settings --> Gaming --> XBox Game Bar. There are options there to disable it. Hope that helps!

Yes! but closing the pop up just minimised the game, and any attempt to open it even using Alt + Tab brought me straight back almost like an endless loop.
However, this morning it just seems to be behaving as normal. I havent changed anything but yet now its working -.-

i thought i had done everything to disable it as well, but i may well not have done it properly.
When you search for game bar and right click to go to app settings, there is no option in that next prompt to disable it! (unless im an idiot whos looking in the wrong place which is also very possible lol)

Thanks for the replies anyways guys, definitely appreciate it.
Its working now anyway for some strange reason, unfortunately i cant tell you the reason why

Oh, I'm glad to hear that you're not running that issue at least anymore. If it ever does show up again, then try going through the Windows settings route instead of the program settings for that. Anyway, glad you got it resolved. Have fun out there! Cheers!

don't open game bar, open WINDOWS settings, and turn it off in there. if you add me as friend i could give you screenshots of where you should be looking for.
